Superhero fatigue might be a common threat among cinemagoers but director Tim Story and world-famous stand-up Kevin Hart might have the remedy for it. Rather than take straight from the pages of beloved heroes like DC and Marvel, they’re sketching out a brand new story in a Meet the Superparents style, by the name of Night Wolf.

STX have confirmed that Kevin Hart will be retiming with his Ride Along and Think Like A Man director for the new film, which would see the front man as the nervous boyfriend set to meet the father-in-law. If things weren’t stressful enough, he quickly discovers that Daddy dearest is actually the world-famous superhero, Night Wolf.

Chairman of STX, Adam Fogelson had this to say on the new venture:

Tim was our first choice for this project. His skill with both comedy and action, along with his long history of working with Kevin on both Ride Along films, both Think Like a Man films, and many of Kevin’s comedy standup event films made him uniquely suited for this material. He came in with a great take and STX and HartBeat couldn’t be more excited to get started.”

Deadline

That’s nice then.

It’ll be interesting to see who they nab to get the titular role and what possible father figure could cast a shadow over Kevin Hart, as well as don the iconic (and completely unknown) outfit of Night Wolf. Feel free to place your bets on who fits bill now.
